so i have decided that i want to rant tonight as my first post. for those that don’t know me, on september 21, i started bar tending school at the “legendary” authentic bar tending school. for $475 you get the full training and mixed drink recipes you’ll need to succeed in the fabulous world of spirits, job placement, and a mixology certification. also, free refresher courses just in case you fall off the wagon.

with that being said, let’s do some math. $475 per person, with about 12 people in each class is $5,700 right? and new classes start about every week or so. and there’s how many weeks in a year? fuck it, i already have a headache. what i’m trying to say is with all the money that’s coming in…

1. the school is set up like an actual bar, but why is there not actual sinks at each well?
2. there is only ONE sink in the whole school besides the bathroom
3. and only ONE bathroom (which is filthy by the way)
4. there is hardly any fake ice in the ice bins. the ice is the size of dice and are clear plastic cubes. i’m sure they could go for around 1,000 for $0.1
5. i understand we’re not allowed to work with actual liquor. the bottles are filled with dyed water. but why are we the ones that have to refill the bottles? shouldnt there be like a shit load of them stocked in the back somewhere?
6. where are all the glasses i learned about that i’m supposed to put all these drinks in?
7. garnish this drink with this fruit and garnish that drink with that fruit. WHERE THE FUCK IS THE FRUIT?! it’s plastic and not even enough to go around. hopefully nobody ate it. “/

i could go on for days but there’s no use. with all that fuckery aside, the classes are actually good and fun. no complaints there but i’m just wondering where all the damn money is going. i’m sure the payment of trainers and mortgage can’t be that much. or is it?

anyways, i have to finish cramming these millions of drink recipes into my already fried brain.
